At our October 2025 club meeting we presented a cheque for £1,000 to Helen & Douglas House Children’s Hospice as a contribution towards the repair of the roof of the Oxford based hospice.

This morning a group of members of the Henley Memory Cafe set off on a river trip on the Rivertime, a specially adapted craft based here in Henley. The outing was one of two this season that are being sponsored by Henley Lions Club. We’ve supported both the Memory Cafe and Bluebells over many years. Both organisations, which meet at the Christchurch Centre, help local dementia patients and their families.
During our July 2025 meeting we presented a cheque for £530 to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance which will provide for the purchase of a flight uniform and ear protection defenders for one member of their helicopter crew. WOW! What an amazing afternoon we had on Saturday 22nd March.
This year an amazing 24 teams, with a total of 141 swimmers, swam an incredible 1926 lengths swum.
With one team swimming an enormous 128 lengths in just 40 minutes. I believe that this is the highest number of lengths EVER swum in a Henley Lions Swimarathon. Plus, 2 other teams also swimming over 100 lengths. While it’s easy to celebrate these amazing numbers, our younger swimmers put in even more effort, giving everything to get from one end to the other. Absolutely awe inspiring, from all those taking part.
You should all be very proud of what you achieved.
Thank you to all the swimmers for taking part, to all the organizers and teachers for encouraging the swimmers to participate, and to all the parents, family and friends, without your support we wouldn’t have an event. Thank you also to the Henley Leisure Centre Life Guards, thankfully you were not needed.
And because I know you all want to know, these are the team results
